Welcome, I'm Peta Edmunds. Born and bred in Durban, South Africa, I moved across to the United Kingdom 5 years ago with my husband, and we settled in Lymington at the edge of the beautiful New Forest, where my husband had secured employment. I have always enjoyed working with and helping people, so became a teacher, teaching for 25 years.
I qualified with Bowtech which is the original Bowen Technique, and am a member of Bowen Association UK. I am fully insured through Holistic Insurance Services, and abide by the code of conduct and ethics, I also hold current DBS certification. I attend regular workshops and training courses to improve my knowledge and technique and I hold a valid first aid certificate.
Why I became a Bowen therapist
About 8 years ago I contracted Glandular Fever which resulted in me suffering from Chronic Fatigue. I was hardly able to walk down the corridor at school and had tried many other modalities to try and regain my energy. When reading a magazine some years back, there was an article on various complementary therapies. I can remember reading about Bowen and how it could help re-energise the body amongst other things. I had kept the article, and by sheer chance found it one day, and after reading it again, realised Bowen could be the answer to my Chronic Fatigue. After only two sessions, I felt like a different person and decided then, that this was what I would like to do once I stopped teaching so that I would be able to share this amazing therapy with others.
